A vision for a healthier European Union

The COVID-19 pandemic has brought into sharp focus the importance of public health and the need for strong, resilient, and accessible health systems. In response to this urgent need, the European Union has launched the EU4Health programme.

Scope of the project

EU4Health is programme with a budget of €5.3 billion for the period of 2021-2027, which is aimed at enabling the EU to strengthen its health systems and prepare for future crises. The EU4Health Programme has several key objectives, including improving public health through disease prevention and health promotion, protecting people from serious cross-border health threats, improving access to medical products and devices, and strengthening national health systems. These objectives are aimed at improving health outcomes and promoting more coordinated and effective responses to health crises.

About EU4Health

EU4Health program is part of the package of measures proposed by the EU Commission to support the recovery of Europe from the COVID-19 pandemic. It will focus on three main areas: health promotion and disease prevention, healthcare access and provision, and crisis preparedness and response.
