About the MUG
The Medical University of Gdańsk (MUG) is the largest medical university in northern Poland. According to the 2020 higher education ranking of the Perspektywy Education Foundation, the MUG is the first medical school in the country and ranks among the top ten of the best Polish state universities (6th place). The Medical University of Gdańsk has been acknowledged as the member of an elite group of the best 10 Polish universities awarded in the prestigious Excellence Initiative – Research University competition.
Aim of the cooperation
The aim of cooperation with the MUG is that we help them prepare scientists to apply for prestigious grants from the European Research Council (ERC) and for grants implemented in consortia in which the MUG will act as a leader.
Services delivered by ttopstart
The framework service for MUG is based on 4 modules. In the first stage of cooperation, ttopstart will develop a preparation strategy for applying for grants for scientists from Priority Research Areas. As part of the analyses, the mapping of research areas and their links with the competition topics defined by the European Commission will be carried out. We will aslo assess the potential of individual scientists and research teams. In the next stage, we will conduct training for scientists, which will concern the preparation of applications for grants under the Horizon Europe program. We will also support writing project applications, coordinating consortia, and mentoring candidates for ERC grants. Support in the management of projects that will receive funding is also foreseen.
Both the ERC grant and the coordination of the project consortium by the MUG in the Framework Program of the European Union are goals set for the Research University. We thank The Medical University of Gdańsk for their trust in ttopstart.
Cooperation with the MUG will last at least until the end of 2025.
