Success story: Detecting Breast Cancer with Artificial Intelligence

3 October 2018

Breast cancer is the most common cancer in women, and the second most common cancer overall worldwide.

Early detection of breast cancer is a matter of life or death, but it represents a great challenge for clinicians, as abnormalities in mammographic images can be very difficult to detect. ScreenPoint Medical is an ongoing client of ours, who’s mission is to improve early detection of breast cancer through intelligent computer systems. Since October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, we want to highlight ScreenPoint’s important work with a video interview with the CEO Professor Nico Karssemeijer.

The Horizon Europe budget will be allocated to strengthening breakthrough science, boosting innovation capacity, competitiveness and jobs, and delivering innovations to society. Importantly, there is a new focus on leveraging existing knowledge and widening participation to more countries, in order to reduce the Research & Innovation gap within Europe.
